    ..GAMBOA/VALERO In The Works?...

After his impressive win over Darling Jimenez on Saturday night in Primm, Nevada, unbeaten WBA #3 Yuriorkis Gamboa (10-0, 8 KOs) is eyeing a June 27th showdown with the #2 rated Jose Cheo Rojas that would take place in Miami and be televised on ESPN2. Should Gamboa get past Rojas, a mouth watering collision with WBA champion Edwin Valero could come in short order.

I stole this. Who do you think would win and what do you think of the situation in general?

Gamboa by stoppage. He's better than Valero in every category but probably power and I just see Gamboa boxing Valero's face off until Valero can't take it anymore.

Valero will be dangerous the first few rounds but after being outboxed and unable to hit Gamboa cleanly, he starts to wear down, taking lots of punishment to the head until he gets TKO'd, 9th round.

I like the fight from a fans prespective, it would be watching Gamboa dance on a razor blade. He does have all the tools to make Valero look silly inside the ring but if he does not keep his hands up and wave his chin in the air like a flag he will get his chin checked.

If i was his management team i would find a champ with less power why do you need Valero right now, very very risky fight. If i was his team i might look for a Humberto Soto fight for vacent belt or something of that sort.

I say Gamboa by a wide margin, but i can envision him in a heap on the canvas also.

In all honesty, I think Soto is MORE dangerous than Valero, overall. He's a better boxer AND he punches better. Not harder, perhaps, but better in general.

Valero is the easier opponent. I think he has a chance to beat him.

        Gamboa by TKO/KO.

Valero is not a good fighter and he isnt close to this super devestating puncher that he is made out to be. He is heavyhanded and throws a lot of punches, thus scoring many impressive KOs over unheralded competition.

Gamboa would have his way with him. clear UD. As long has he keeps his hands up high

I think Soto is an oldish 29, and Valero is a young hungry ****er. I wouldn't fight either guy in this spot tbh I am much more conservative than his team appears to be. I think he could possibly make them both look like bums in the ring, but Valero is the one much more likely to knock him out in my opinion.

Valero might not be able to catch him though you are right, but if Valero could not take out Gamboa I think Gamboa would beat the **** out of Soto too.

They would both be tough guys for someones 12th fight

Good points. Either way, it's risky. Nonetheless, it's a way to build up a young exciting fighter fast. Which he might need if he doesn't keep his hands up.
