I think your timeline is off at 130.

at 130 you mention Nelson but at the time Oscar fought at 130 (for 2 fights in a span of 60 days) Nelson lost his belt before Oscar's last fight at 130. Also, correct me now if I am mistaken, but Gabe wasn't a champ in 1994 until September AFTER Oscar made his move to 135 and became a champ at 135 in beating Paez. So what title was Oscar to go for with Gabe? You can also make a case for Oscar fighting Nelson but if you were Oscar's handlers would you want your 11-0 fighter fighting the Professor that early in his career?

#1, oscar had less than 15 fights when he moved DOWN to jr light to win a title...how many PROSPECTS(which is what Oscar was at the time) have won titles that fast??he went down because it was the easiest belt even if he was drained...nelson wasnt even the champ btw...and didnt oscar KO the 2 guys that beat Nelson around those years???Ruleas and Leija??

#2 Oscar KO'ed Rafael Ruelas in 2 rounds, you ****** *****...unifying 2 titles...he also KO'ed Genaro Hernandez....much better than the protected guys you list....

#3 Oscar WAS GONNA FIGHT TSZYU.....but Kostya got himself KO'ed by Phillips(you know, the guy who got brutalised by Quartey)

#4 Forrest wasnt a champ til mid 01....oscar was busy unifying 154lb......and Forrest had already fallen form grace by the time DLH retired(thatnks to that Mayorga guy who got brutalised by Oscar)...

so BASICALLY , DLH has avoided 1 guy...Winky Wright... let's ****ing crucify him...

Even tho he lost a bunch of em, Oscar took on enough big name fighters that he still gets recognition as a great fighter. But I'm glad somebody pointed out that don't mean he took on all comers at all divisions he fought at.

I don't agree he ducked anyone BUT winky wright. Winky right has been calling his name for years and oscar just ignores it. The winky that fought vargas is not the same winky that has been calling for oscar. But then again everyone wants to fight oscar for the pay day alone oscar can't fight everyone! But in my opinion he has worked his away around winky.

Co-sign. Winky could beat him at 154 and Margarito would beat him now anwhere between 147-154.

Oscar has become a coward in his later years, but in his prime he was always fighting the best...

Oscar is one of the few fighters in my opinion who did not avoid anybody. Can you honestly look at his resume and say that he ducked fighters left and right? If you can then you are, in the purest form of the word, an idiot.

People should understand the business of prizefighting. You do it to make money. You make money by fighting big names. And you make even more if you keep fighting big names. Oscar is making Oscar money for a reason so you do the math.

You can't fight EVERYONE with a decent record in your weight class. That's just bad business and bad self-preservation. Moreso, that's just unrealistc.
