I agree. With a puncher like Valero there is no margin for error. Maybe by next year Gamboa will be able to take that big of a step.

From what I saw of Valero, I wasn't impressed. He didn't have a jab at all and was constantly warned by the ref for holding out his arm to keep the guy at a distance so he could throw punches. But I understand that he has pretty good power and with Gamboa holding his hands low all the time, he could get caught. Undecided at this time.

To me Valero is wild and sloppy. Gamboa with his speed could totally outclass him. The thing like everyone else though is how Gamboa keeps his hands down. That worries me and Valero could take advantage. In the end I think Gamboa would understand the danger in that fight and not be so non chalant and beat Valero.
