    Gamboa-Valero this year?

    Gamboa to return in June!

After his impressive win over Darling Jimenez on Saturday night in Primm, Nevada, unbeaten WBA #3 Yuriorkis Gamboa (10-0, 8 KOs) is eyeing a June 27th showdown with the #2 rated Jose Cheo Rojas that would take place in Miami and be televised on ESPN2. Should Gamboa get past Rojas, a mouth watering collision with WBA champion Edwin Valero could come in short order. In other Gamboa-related news, his manager Ahmet Öner has terminated Gamboa's trainer Osmiri Gamboa Fernandez, whom he said was too much of a "buddy type." Now training the Cuban Olympic gold medalist will be the highly respected Orlando Cuellar, best known for doing such great work with former world champion Glen Johnson.

Glen Jonhnson and Gamboa are so damn different, though... That trainer match-up should be interesting.

I think Valero could get stopped against Gamboa. It's not like his experience is more than Gamboa.. ****, he's probably had less total pro rounds. Lol...

I'd like to see this fight. I think Gamboa can win it.

It'll be interesting to see what Cuellar can do with Gamboa.

I think Gamboa, even at this early stage of career, can beat Valero.

I think Gamboa should stop Valero, but Valero makes me very nervous because of his punching power and how gamboa keeps his hands down low.

Same with me. I think Gamboa can school Valero and make him look bad. Since Valero is sloppy and wild, but Gamboa's shady defense can make for an opening and that might be all Valero needs. I hope the fight happens though.

Sure Gamboa could beat Valero, but he also could get flattened and his career may never recover. Team Gamboa should think very carefully before accepting that fight. But if it's on HBO or Showtime then I hope it happens.

If Gamboa played his cards right he would make Valero look like an idiot in the ring. If he kept his hands down though i have to think Valero would check his chin atleast once. Very risky fight because you never know what would happean to Gamboa if he got knocked out how would that effect his ego and confidence.

To risky for me if i was his team but it would be a great fight, it would be like watching Gamboa dance on a razors edge.
