Well, he did. Why else would you not fight again for the money that they would have earned in the rematch. PPV royalties from HBO would have been about 20-25 million for Lewis and about 10-15 for Vitali. He knew that he got lucky by the fight being stopped. And to those who say he could not see at the end: He sure hit Lennox alot for a man who could not see in the round before the stoppage. I say that Lewis would have been out of there within (2) more rounds. BTW, Wlad is now better than Lennox ever was. Greater jab and a better, more powerful right hand too.

I like lennox he great champion but 1 or 2 more rounds woild have ended lennoxes legacy.despite the cut lewis could barely move in the fight and looked like he was about to fall over from exaustion.klitchko was landind devastating punches.I also point out that the cut happened in the early rounds but since then vitali was dominant in the fight. Of course if lennox had lost chances are he woould have gotten a rematch came in shape the second time and probabaly would beat klitchko but we we will never know

I agree, good post. Lennox wasn't landing many punches, yet there's all those cuts on Vitali. I wonder if they checked Lennox's gloves to see if he was cheating? Normally a few punches don't cause cuts like that.
