I won't rate him until he retires. He aint top 10 though. His resume is weak compared to many others.

Floyd Mayweather was obsessed with getting that pay day with Oscar. He could have fought all the big names from 130+ and beaten everyone of them. For instance, he should have stuck around a bit longer and put beatings on Sugar Shane and Zoo. But seeing as he didn't he doesn't get the extra kudos. Top 20 for sure.

His career isn't over yet, so he won't be getting a rating from me.

Great fighter. Mediocre resume by ATG standards.
Not on ATG list. Unlikely to be unless his attitude changes majorly.

I'm not enough of an afficianado on boxing history to accurately rank anyone all time in terms of numbers, but I would say that Floyd is perhaps the best boxer we've seen in the 90s and 00s. I'd rate Roy Jones #2 for this period purely because Floyd has beaten more quality opposition than Roy.

I think that if what I say is true then he'll wind up fairly high on the list, but probably below virtually every current ATG he is comparable to. It'll be a case of Floyd was great, but not as great as the guys who are already there.

If he retired right now he wouldn't make the top 20. A couple of significant wins could change that obviously.
