So my girlfriend is a BIG David Mamet fan, so I thought I don't like UFC or MMA but because someone like Mamet wrote Red Belt I'd see it. It was an alright movie, things where going ok and I was not really getting into it. Then there is a scene near the end where the camera pans around and you see the crowd, the red carpet from back stage to the ring. The camera fixes on Randy Couture who is doing the commentating on the big fight scene that's about to happen in the movie, just then outta no where Couture says ''Boxing is dead''. Outta no where!!! If M.M.A. and U.F.C. is so much better why does EVERY movie have a line about boxing being dead. The NEW light heavyweight Champion Joe Calzaghe and English man Ricky Hatton can get 55,000 people to see them, not to see the guy their are fighting but just to see them. That's dead to the likes of David Mamet?! How many people can ****ing Couture get ?? As a fighter, trainer and just someone who loves the sport I get really disrespect when I hear these guys (who know nothing about boxing) say it's dead. If this scene had been between a fighter from M.M.A. talking about boxing I'd understand but to see this low blow, outta no where from someone like David Mamet... Well the title speaks for it's self. If Martial arts is all about respecting yourself and other why do their keep disrespecting boxing fighters, trainer and fans by saying these silly things. A few boxers have gone into U.F.C and M.M.A. and made a name for themselfs, name one of these guys who have come into OUR ring and handled business? Not one, notta, zip. Hell if U.F.C. fighters are so much better then Boxers why won't their let Anderson Silva fight Roy Jones Jr. after Silva called him out? Dana White won't allow it. So **** David Mamet, and **** U.F.C... By the way Red Belt wasn't any good, silly over the top movie by a fan instead of someone who knew what they were talking about. Don't worry I won't make a gay joke about that purple belt you have Mamet. Well done for yourself! Sorry but I HAD to the bring that up because I think it's funny.

Thanks, but like I said I'm not into U.F.C. or M.M.A. that's why I posted it in the boxing forum and not M.M.A. Don't mean to be rude but I wanted to know what other fight fans thought about the movie and this long running hate campaign that U.F.C. and M.M.A. fans and fighters have been doing on boxing.Comment
