remember Jimenez has never been dropped before, still i thought Gamboa would take him out, so what do you guys think, Did we overrate Gamboa's power, or did we underrate Jimenez chin ? depending on that fight cause Gamboa hit him with some pretty hard and straight shoots and it was like nothing, Jimenez face was pretty ****ed up at then end of the fight and it was one sided match, but the guy never went down.

I think a bit of both as well. Later in the fight Gamboa seemed to lose some steam on his punches on the average. There were some though that were pretty powerful. Jiminez took them well and never really seemed seriously hurt, but damn his face was ****ed up.

I love how people think Jimenez was some bum that Gamboa was supposed to squash. The guy had never even been down in 27 fights, his only two losses were majority decisions, he won NY Golden Gloves 4 years in a row and won the SRR award (the best fighter of the bunch) 3 of those years. Only one year after turning pro, I think Gamboa did pretty damn good, he won every round except the one where he was caught on the temple/ear while off balance and he jumped right back up. He still needs some polishing, but all the tools are there.

Jimenez has a good chin. Gamboa has good power although a lot of snap went out of his punches as the fight went on.

His stamina and workrate actually surprised me, he was still throwing a lot of punches in the 10th round. Considering it was his first time going 10, it's pretty impressive to me.

Has somebody this spanish site with a lot of Gamboa's amateur fights? I thought he lost a few times to his cuban fellow Yan Barthelemy who is also with Arena.
