Former world light flyweight champion Brian Viloria claims his opponent for his fight in Aguascalientes, Mexico on Sunday (Manila Time) was signed at the last minute. Viloria didn't show up in the 1st Nino fight and he fell short in the rematch. Since then I kinda wrote him off but I hope he gets anotha title shot now. -

Not the same thing at all except in the fact that both incidents involved late subs.
In the Mayol case, the late sub is a prospect (Adrian Hernandez) and the purpose of the legerdemain is obvious. In the Villoria incident, the late sub is a trailhorse...a cannon-fodder sent out for Villoria to gobble up, which Villoria did. He could not have done any less. It would have been discourteous of Villoria not to feast on the offering.Comment
