Why are people so BIG on Linares

This is not a hate thread. Jorge Linares is clearly a very talented fighter and has loads of potential. But hes talked about like hes already an accomplished fighter. Beating Larios at this stage doesnt make you a star. Even Max Ledderman last night said how Linares vs Gamboa would be a miss match because Linares is the "real deal" and all that. Linares still has a lot to prove in my opinion. Whats a tougher fight at this stage, Oscar Larios at 126-130 or Darling Jimenez? Honestly i say Jimenez, at this stage of course. Im not saying Gamboa beats Linares either, but i just dont like how hes talked about as if hes already made it. His last fight against Diaz should have been against Elio Rojas instead. Diaz was schooled by Rojas in the title eliminator and lost just about every round but Diaz got the decison, in his homecourt of course. Linares still has a lot to prove. He should give Elio Rojas a shot because Rojas was literally ***ed out of the decision in the Diaz fight. Had he not, he would have fought Linares.

He has the potential to be GREAT,hes got the skills, hes like a young DLH,with more technical skills,i disagree with Kellerman ( Alot of people do ) i dont think Linares vs Gamboa would be a mismatch,it would probably be one of the best fights we have seen, too much skills in the ring

not for nothing, but a lot of people said Joel Julio would be great. Just look at my avatar for the answer.

            Say what?

Linares is an incredible talent for one so young.

I agree he hasn't had that one defining win yet. He does look good though when you watch him fight and you can speculate that he will be great. At the same time though we'll find out once he faces top notch fighters.

Kellerman said a few months ago that he wouldn't pick against Linares pound for pound against any fighter in the world right now on his radio show. He said that obviously Linares has a long way to go, but that he is already the complete package. So don't be surprised when Max hypes up Linares.

...Because it's the in thing to be. I guarantee that a great deal of the people saying that Linares is the second coming of Duran have seen 1-2 fights of his at max.

He looks like he could be a great fighter, he hasn't gotten that big win yet but I think it's inevitable.
