The HBO announcing crew, discluding Merchant, makes me sick. They play favorites too much and it has a profound effect on their broadcasting presentation. If a blind person were watching Hopkins/Calzaghe, and only paying attention to Kellerman; they would have probably thought Hopkins had a shut-out.

Kellerman puts his own personal feeling about fighters into his commentary, and makes inaccurate comments regularly. He doesn't have the right personality for his job - he's lacking in social graces and common sense sometimes.

I'm sure HBO could easily find someone better to replace him.

Actually, I respect the backtracking more than I respect lampley/merchant/steward telling me that i am watching a great performance by delahoya against forbes.

At least Max is willing to change his position and willing to accept when he was wrong.

For example, early in the fight he said that Jimenez should be applying reckless pressure. Then, later on, Max admitted he was wrong and that the classic pressure was more effective. I'm down with that.

Max Kellerman sometimes sounds like a young woman with a sexual attraction when he gushes about the fighters he likes, such as Gamboa last night.

Some say Max is gay. I have no problem with his sexuality, but he should keep his sexual feelings toward fighters out of his commentary.
