    Bitter much?

Ricky Hatton promises to cut down his critics

    By David Anderson 16/05/2008

(What's this?)Ricky Hatton has promised his fans a jaw-dropping ring entrance for his comeback fight next week to cut down his critics.

The Hitman, written off by some after losing his unbeaten record to Floyd Mayweather, claims: "The knives are out for me."

Hatton is refusing to give away too much about his ring walk before his homecoming fight at the City of Manchester Stadium. But it may involve a knife thrower.

Hatton is keeping the exact details under wraps and it will be his unique way of blunting the cynics and the snipers.

"They're thinking Ricky's not the same fighter," said the IBO light-welterweight champion, who defends against Juan Lazcano.

"They're thinking I've had a lot of hard fights, that I've lost my unbeaten record.

"They're thinking I've been up and down in weight, that I've not lived the life I should have and that I'm going to retire after a couple more fights.

"They don't even have to say it. But that's the vibe I'm getting from them.

"All that only spurs me on and my ring entrance has them in mind.

"I don't want to give too much away, but when the 55,000 crowd in the stands see what it is, they're going to think I've flipped.

"They're going to say 'He's lost his unbeaten record and he's doing that. Wow! He's got b****cks that little fella'.

"The biggest clue I can give you is about the knives being out for me. This will be my way of saying '**** you!' to the critics."

Hatton, 29, clearly hasn't lost his famous sense of humour. But joking aside, he does need to perform after the beating by Mayweather
