Yes, the risk wasn't worth the reward. Same reason as to why many other fights didn't take place.

    It doesn't mean Pryor wins.

Leonard UD, if getting down to 144 doesn't harm him physically.

Why yes, Ray must've been scared.

That's what Legendary Nights implied, right?

A welterweight champ has a total obligation to fight a junior welterweight champion. Fighters "calling out" big name fighters is rare.

Leonard fought Benitez, Hearns, Duran, Kalule @ 154, Hagler @ 160, but was scared of Pryor?

It was more of a risk-reward thing. That still implies he thought it was a risky fight though. Ray was the bigger man and does have advantages. You forget that Pryor had the great equilizer Crocodile Lewis.

Damn near all the "ducks" or "avoiding" involve risk/reward.

Pryor did nothing of note @ welter and Leonard had no obligation to fight him. Everyone calls out the big names like Leonard.

But someone on Legendary Nights implied he was scared, so it must've been true.

I used to like those documentaries, but after reading all the simplistic bull**** that people take from it, **** that show.

That is true, sometimes fights just are not meant to be. Still though it is not like SRL any less great because this fight did not happean.

Late 70's early 80's Ray Leonard career is pretty much as good a run as you will get saying he should have taken out Pryor along with everyone else is kinda nitpicking.

I know Ray Leonard was not scared of him but some people you do not fight unless you are forced too, it is ****** business otherwise he knew this. If he would have beaten Pyror he would have been bigger in Cincinatti though.

I already mentioned the possibility of Leonard being drained @ 144.

However, he did fight @ 145 for some of his title fights and performed just fine, so it wasn't like was a huge welterweight struggling to make weight.
