I see it in similar fashion to Cotto-Mosley believe it or not. People are gonna be surprised at just how easy Cotto can tag Margarito, and Cotto's gonna slip and move out of most of Margarito's shots. He won't try pressuring him as there's no point in competing with a guy that can throw near 1600 punches a fight. Instead Cotto's going to box the whole fight, primarily on the back foot while Marg seeks and destroys. He'll use his jab in a big way as he's said it's made the difference in his big fights recently. He'll use it to setup his right hand and switch up from a jab to a hook from time to time to throw off Marg. Marg will just keep coming forward. Cotto won't attempt to land that many bodyshots as it'll give Marg the distance he needs to touch Cotto. I see no KD's happening nor a KO win for either. Probably a UD win for Cotto but not an easy UD. Marg will have his moments of desperation.
How do you see Cotto-Margarito playing out? Here's mine

I don't know.. Margarito is incredibly easy to hit. That won't be especially surprising. Almost all of Margarito's opponents light his ass up at some point.I see it in similar fashion to Cotto-Mosley believe it or not. Mosley gave Cotto alot of distance and every time he landed a good shot he backed up a few steps, put his chin out, and danced a little showing off. Margarito isn't going to give Cotto room like that, and he won't be admiring his work or letting Cotto of the hook.Comment

I agree in theory...for the most part.I see it in similar fashion to Cotto-Mosley believe it or not. Cotto wont pressure margarito; it would be a highly ignorant thing to do.
Cotto has the option to brawl or box (he does both well enough); margarito (against a guy like cotto) can only brawl...because if decides to box cotto would decision him rather easily.
What i see happening is both guys getting buzzed quite a few times during the fight...there will be some big hard punches being landed by both...
i WOULDNT be surprised to see each man down once...(whether cotto boxes on his toes or not).
I see the end coming down to a close decision in favor of cotto.
I think margarito wins rounds early, busting up cotto to the chin as well (to test it); maybe even making him look bad early...but down the stretch cotto adapts and the boxing side of the fight starts to work for cotto...sitcking him with the jab...tagging him to the body; fighting well on his toes...
its going to be a REAL close fight...and anyone can win really (each fighter has more than enough power to win a knockout of sorts even in the 12th and even if they lost majority of the rounds leading up to it)...
so there will never be a point in the fight where you can say; he's beaten him convincingly here for 10 rounds...its basically over because one punch from either can change things...
but as i said; cotto pulls it out late for a close decision.Comment

I agree with most what you said, but I think Cotto will win the early rounds not Margarito. I can see Cotto growing frustrated later in the fight because he will hit Margo with a lot of punches and Margarito will just keep coming. Anyway, I see Cotto winning by a close decision also.I agree in theory...for the most part.

Of course Margarito is easy to hit. HOW CAN YOU MISS? Ricardo Mayorga would land 1,000 power shots on him for crying out loud. He has the worst defense I've ever seen aside from Mayorga and Carlos MaussaComment

I disagree. Cotto is not as slippery as some people are making him out to be.
I think this fight will start with Cotto and Margarito initially feeling each other out with Margarito touching Cotto a little to hard for comfort. Cotto will then try to outbox Margarito and fight on the backfoot like some here are saying, only to realize Margarito is not as easy to shake off as he had hoped, and he is getting tagged hard to the body with the occasional head snapping shot making the crowd go ooooh thanks to a very good pressure plan and reach on Margarito's part. Cotto then is left with no choice but to engage Margarito on an all out brawl, he does and they engage in FOTY candidate from there on and the fight then is up in the air. Cotto with the faster quicker combinations but Margarito with the harder shots.
Someone ends up on the canvas with the corner waiving it off. This fight will not go 12.Comment

Pretty much, although I think Cotto is well aware of what he's up against.I disagree. Cotto is not as slippery as some people are making him out to be.
