If the match is made, Jones beats Calzaghe

I'd be willing to bet all of my points that you Sceners are so keen on that he would, too.

Also, keep in mind that while if Jones won the fight it would say a lot about him and Calzaghe, and solidify the fact that Jones is the best SMW and the #1 P4P (head to head) fighter in history.

If Calzaghe wins? Well, it depends on how the fight goes, but it most likely wouldn't mean much except that he beat a past prime RJJ. Whereas there is more significance for RJJ because of the fact that he's past his prime.

Anyway, any takers if the fight happens?

I'll match whatever points you got that Joe Calzaghe wins.

Calzaghe's got a good chin. Never been hurt badly, only been on his shorts a couple of times and always right back up with a clear head.

I think if anyone gets KO'd, it'll be Jones, late in the fight (after 7 or 8), rocked with a hard left, then further staggered and hurt by a following flurry before the ref calls the TKO. IF Calzaghe loses, it'd be by a close decision.

so if jones wins hes the best ever and if calzaghe wins it doesn't mean anything, riiiight, so why should he even fight him?

I wouldn't say that. Jones, even at his age, is still formidable and would beat 99% of the LH weight class. He's still fast, has decent power, and is vastly experiened. I feel like he has at least a 40 to 50% chance of winning the fight, and would have a hard time picking a favorite myself. If Joe wins, it'll be good for him, whatever the huddled masses think. The problem is, the worse he make Jones look, the more people will claim that Roy was "washed up", and that he shouldn't have been fighting anymore.

this kills me to type this.... kills me... brain cramp just typing it.. but..

joe doesnt get much for beating roy... roy gets a TON for beating joe...

i still think he should take the roy fight THEN fight pavlik...

make your money off roy while hes still around, and technically should be an easier fight for joe... altho... i think roy can beat him...
