Francisco Figueroa VS Luis Rodriguez - Round By Round
05-14-2008, 08:03 PM
I will be doing a RBR for the Figueroa/Rodriguez match up only.
I won't be doing a RBR for the undercard but I'll announce the winner.

Fights even so far a minute into it.
Both fighters almost fall due to some extra momentum in a clinch.
Rod and Fig are both are in fighting.
Landing fairly evenly.
Rod isn't using his height effectively.
Fig is jumping in with alot of wild punches mostly hooks.
Rod has a cut over his eye!
Gets caught with a clean punch and is sent stumbling around the ring!
Rod is bleeding heavily from over his right eye.
I give the first round to Fig for being able to completely impose his will on Fig.

Cut ruled due to an accidental headbutt...
But ESPN replay shows Figs leather grazing the skin on a strong punch that landed clean

Fid has Rod on the ropes.
Fig is able to get past Rods reach fairly easily.
Rod not using his jab effectively.
Rod lands a nice left to eh body.
Rod is now standing a bit further back and taking to his jab.
Fig lands a left right combo body to head.
Fig is landing cleanly rather frequently.
Rod throws some lefts to the body.
I give the round to Fig

Rod looks tired.
Throwing wild right hook of his back foot Rod stumbles a bit.
Fig is taking a bit of a rest just absorbing some light shots on his arms and elbows.
Fig lands a left straight.
Rod is trying to land the uppercut. Completely misses.
Rod can't figure out how to cut Fig off on his way in.
He is fighting like the smaller man.
Rod has barely any head movement at this point.
He's just throwing bombs hoping to land calmly.
Rod throws a left right combo to the body two nicely placed hooks.
In fighting. Rod throws an uppercut that lands on the way out. Didn't land flush.
Fig is beating up Rod for the most part.
Another round for Fig.

Fighters trade on the inside. Fig gets the better o it.
Rod doesn't look nearly as bouncy as round one.
Rodriguez is throwing punches with very poor technique here.
Lands two hooks low. No issue.
Fig is taking a break here on the ropes.
Rod is going to the body with the hooks again.
Fig has him in the corner throwing shots. They dont land clean to the body.
Big straight left from Fig. Rod can't keep Fig outside at all. His jab is nonexistant.
Rod is backing up. Just hoping to hurt Fig with a hook to the body.
Fig is landing with the right repeatedly with Rod on the ropes.
Rod isn't in this fight. Hes a corpse in there.
Another round for Fig. LOL.

Buddy McGirt tells Fig to go to Rods body.
Rod is still backing up no flat feet.
Teddy Atlas has the fight 4-0 for Fig like me.
Fig has landed 101 out of 296 punches thrown.
Rod is leaning on Fig just getting pounded taking a beating on his arms and elbows.
Fig is up on his toes. Rod is bouncing a bit.
Still no jab from Rod. Just trying to land hooks and straights from outside.
Fig lands a clean right hand to Rods chin but he's still on his feet.
Rod going to Figs body but Fig seems unaffected by his exhausted punching.
Another round for Fig
