IMO Lacy would get outclassed by Pavlik and would not last very long at all at this point.

Do you forget that Pavlik's work rate is pretty much unmatched in the middleweight division. He was averages an insane rate of punches a round (all though it doesn't always seem like it) I don't how you can say Lacy would smother him, when that is all Kelly does to any fighter he faces. And I don't think Calzaghe would walk through Pavlik. Pavlik has a great pace and work-rate, although not as good as Joe's, he actually packs something behind his punches.

Lacy got destroyed by Clazaghe and almost lost to Manfredo of all people. Pavlik is a very similar fighter in terms of work rate and pressure to Joe (but with more power), I don't see how anyone would think that Pavlik wouldn't do the same thing to Lacy as Calzaghe did to him.

Pavlik is flat footed, Calzaghe was not.

Pavlik WILL take BIG shots off Lacy is they were to fight. None of Pavlik's opponents have come at him and pressured him from the off.

I agree hat Calzaghe is much more athletic than Kelly, but it is very hard for a fighter to pressure some right off the bat when the opponent they are facing has great knock out power and jumps on you right away as Pavlik does. You are correct though Pavlik does take shots. But I am not quite sure why everyone questions Pavlik's chin so much as well. He sustained repeated clean right hands from Miranda (same one that blew Bank's face off) and wasn't even phased by it. We forget that when he was put down by Taylor, he was considered the undisputed and best middleweight in the world. He landed about 7 wide open blows to Pavlik's jaw. 90 % of fighters would have been asleep after that. He got up and won the fight.

Calzaghe got a wide UD and caned Lacy.

Most reckon Calzaghe Pavlik would be close ish Calzaghe UD.

That means Pavliks on or near Calzaghe's level, and Lacy clearly wasn't, and isn't, to either of them.

Sorry that's the basics, but there's no major particulars about Pavlik, Joe, or Lacy that'd make the above too inaccurate really.

Well if Lacy was a boxer then I'd agree.

Lacy is a puncher and so is Kelly.

MANY Pavlik opponents are pressure fighters by nature, and NONE of them have been able to go forward.

Pavlik is flat-footed, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It plays into his style perfectly.

Lacy is slow, mathodical, extremely predictable, and has absolutely no jab.

There is no way he would land anything on Pavlik, who has solid defense. pavlik would easily batter him for like 6 or 7 rounds before stopping him IMO. Although it could just as likely go to the cards cause Lacy is one of the toughest guys in sports today. The guy is an animal

A shortish guy with a great chin and incredible stamina smothering Pavlik will really piss Pavlik off. Kelly wont be able to throw his punches and everything will be from close range.

                      BAM

Left hook and lights out for Kelly.
