to many haters point at margaritos losses and say thats the reason he is not one of the best. the fact is he had 3 losses before he even turned 18. as a teenager he was fighting grown men when most fighters his age are still fighting as amatuers with kids with headgear on. all fighters have lost as amateurs so margarito should not get hated on for losing before he was 18. if you count cotto and mayweathers fights as amateurs from 15 to 18 years old they would not be undefeated either.
the fact is margarito did not lose for 10 years at welterweight and that is what made him the most feared man in the planet. since turning 18 he has only lost 2 robberies. the first was to santos in santos home country. the puerto rican officials stopped the fight and went to scorecards right when margarito was bringing the heat and about to give the fans another knockout. the williams fight was very close but margarito did just enough to win in the eyes of many fans and media. if margarito would have started faster he would have given the fans a knockout.
if margarito had started as a pro at 18 and not been the victim of robberies he could easily be undefeated today!!
