Lunch w. Emanuel Steward last week - What's your take on Lee?

I do some marketing work for the Kronk Boxing brand with Emanuel Steward's daughter. Recently I got to have lunch with him and we started talking about Andy Lee. He adamantly said that Andy was really sick the night of the Brian Vera fight and he was out of it. It is not surprising to hear this from a trainer who's fighter just lost, but Emanuel is a genuine and honest guy. I went back and watched some video on Lee's fights and he looked pretty explosive. In the Vera fight he was slow, flat-footed and lethargic something that was not evident in any prior fight. What do you guys think, does he have something? Was he sick? Andy Lee worth talking about?

By the way he also said that Vera won't give him a rematch, probably a good idea on his part.

He didnt look sick at all to me. Was the same explosive Lee in the early rounds, its just Veras pressure and workrate broke Lee down.

Lets be honest, outside of that Straight left hand, Lee can't do much. He has flashed a great right hand every now and again, but he has proved they were only flashes.

Lots of heart though, and very entertaining. I cant believe people were picking this guy to beat Pavlik before that fight. what a laugh

No way he could even touch Pavlik. They hyped him up way to early. I think he could have beaten Vera, he just has never been hurt before and didn't know how to react. Good points though man.
