Anybody down to throw some fake loot on this weekends B.A.D. fights? Three pretty interesting fights between up and coming fighters. My picks are:
Yuriokis Gamboa vs Darling Jimenez
James Kirkland vs Eromosele Albert
Alfredo Angulo vs Richard Gutierrez
45K per fight should be good. Or I can split em up if we have multiple takers.
I think Gamboa will pass this test, although Jimenez was able to score a bit of an upset over another prospect/contender in Anchondo. Gamboa is getting serious hype and I think his talent alone should be enough to get him through this fight. Athleticism, hand speed and power can get you to a world title (Jermain Taylor).
I'm taking the upset in the second match. I haven't seen Albert fight, but I'm aware that he defeated Daniel Edouard and Yory Boy Campas. He is bigger than Kirkland and I suspect he is stronger inside as well. Last I saw from Kirkland was the Conyers fight and Conyers, a taller, longer opponent, had Kirkland hurt.
The third fight might be the best action fight of the three. Gutierrez is a rough dude who throws hard to the body. He gave Josh Clottey a good fight and later slapped around a shopworn Teddy Reid. I know Angulo carries a big punch, especially in the right hand, and has little defense to speak of. This should be a slug fest. I'm taking the more experienced Gutierrez to upset the Mexican Olympian prospect.
