Amir Khan Willing To Move To America

UK lightweight star Amir Khan tells Sportinglife that he's not against a possible move to the United States in order to move his career forward and to hook up with well respected American-based trainer. Khan recently let go of his long-time trainer Oliver Harrison and is now looking to hire an American trainer. [details]

If he can't find a trainer to come over here then why not? It would be a good move for him in terms of establishing himself to the American market. But I dont see why he has to look exclusively for an American trainer? There are plenty of trainers over here who can do as good a job. The reason why America has so many champions is because its structured towards it, not because there trainers are superior to ours.

It would be really good for his career. If he was trained by Roger Mayweather for example and had the rest of his fights over there he would be 10 times more famous over the next few years than if he stayed in England.

I think Mayweather would be a pretty good trainer for him.

Then a fast, powerfull, young, promising prospect, turns into a boring, defensive, 3 division champ.

Only joking...that would not be so bad.
