Is Oscar a one handed fighter?

De La Hoya is well known for having a very good jab and left hook. Is that all he has?

Pretty much, good left hook and jab, nothing else.

I'm pretty sure he still has both of his hands? Where did you hear that he had one amputated?

His right hand can be decent, but he rarely uses it and the only time it really did anything was against Gatti...and that's Gatti.

His right has improved considerably since he turned pro, but Oscar predominately relies on his left for power.

I noticed he was very reliant on his left hand as he got tired towards the end of the Forbes fight.

I read where he was left handed, like Cotto, and that's a lot of the reason why his jab is so good. But if his right is pretty much worthless, doesn't that make him a lot easier to defend against?

No because a jab can be a deadly weapon. If his right hand doesn't come (which it does sometimes, but he's still a one handed fighter because he rarely uses his right and his right isn't that good anyway) you have that left hook still.

Oscar isn't going to knockout someone with his right unless they are really on the verge of going. Oscar's jab is so good that it gets past a lot of defenses, so it would be harder to defend against.
