Margarito vs. Top Rank's Matched Opponents

Top Rank has been dying to get an elite fighter in the ring with Margarito for years. Why? Because they believe he can win, that's why. It's called a calculated risk. A gamble. It's something you do in investing. Business.

As I mentioned in another thread Top Rank has thrown around alot of money to try and get guys like Mayweather, Mosley, and now Cotto in the ring with Margarito. Offering Mayweather, and then Mosley 8 million dollars to fight Antonio Margarito at the time was outrageous. There was no possible way that money made sense. Top Rank made the offer knowing they could make the it back, and more, in the long term. They aren't ******, in fact Top Rank has demonstrated itself to be potentially the most shrewd and clever promotional company in the sport of Boxing.

Now, with this theory in mind knowing that Top Rank was willing to gamble millions and millions of dollars that Margarito could beat Mayweather, Mosley and now Cotto; you tell me who he could beat out of these three. Please pick any or all of the three who you think Margarito could beat.

I think he has more of a chance against Cotto than Mosley or Mayweather, and i based that on the facts that Cotto would be drawn into a brawl by margarito and when that happens he would lose.

Against Mosley or PBF he needs abit of speed to catch them something i think he lacks in his game.

Or how about you look at it the other way. Margo was just built for hype. A sacraficial lamb. Top Rank hasnt put as much money into margo as they have to Cotto. They been bringin cotto up since the beginning. Theyve brought him along nicely. If they wanted to have margo as a cotto type of superstar they should have not put him on Cotto undercards and have him be the main event to his own fights.

But in the end it doesnt matter. Instead of bitching about what top rank is and is not doing.Just enjoy the fight they are making for us.
