No doubt. I love it because it gives me a chance to see my God in action.

BTW I doubt they rival HBO or Showtime especially if Tye Fields appears more on those channels, but they will probably stay the same they are right now with some decent names and then maybe here and there have a card like this Hatton one.

Word around the campfire is "The Contender" will land on Versus, that is great news for boxing fans. Also Bob Arum has been ****ing them over and the fans with the **** cards he's been putting on. Now that the contract is up they will begin to work with other promoters like they did with Golden Boy for the Hatton fight. They might not be a showtime or Hbo but they will be putting on good cards and have the Contender.

The Hatton Card is stunning to me for it to be on free cable tv. If they can get a name like Ricky Hatton in a main event I definitely think they can get good championship fights on this network and cause HBo and Showtime to start putting better cards on for free. They also seem to have a higher budget than Espn and Telefutura

            What do you all think?
yeah, i think once they start getting bigger names on their fight cards, i think the network will open up more and start to put more boxing on and maybe really make a run at making VERSES a known source for boxing.

i've been saying for a long time that boxing/promoters need to start having more tv fights. they should do a series on VERSES like ESPN with wednesday and friday night fights. give them a run for their money. i like watching the mexican channels for fights, only thing is they have a lot of fights with people you have never heard of and never will hear of, which has it's good and bad sides.
but if VERSES were to host a boxing series and make decent fight, i think linking up with GBP is a good step, it would also help GBP or any promoter get their fighters some recognition and help build a good following, outside their hometown.

what else boxing should do, if at all possible, is, some promoter should try and see if they could work out a deal to do a boxing series on SPIKE TV and rival MMA, at the very least there would be more boxing on TV, which is so needed. i think that it would be a good competition and i think that it would also showcase fighters and give more exposure to not only the network and promoters but it would also give people a chance to learn and know more about fighters and learn about more fighters than what we have today, it seems as if the only fighters known are superstars that are crossover boxing stars, when in reality there are a lot of fighters who are stars, they just don't get the right amount of exposure.............

VERSES could really step it up if they wanted to and make some serious headway if they would line something up and commit to it...........

Versus was the best network until somebody stopped ducking Tye...
and that is the great Monte Barrett, the man who lasted 11 rounds with Nikolai "The Beast from the East" Valuev. Now it's gonna be on HBO. However, Ricky Hatton being on that network might've just put it back on the map.

I watch VS more than HBO, Showtime and ESPN combined. I love World Extreme Cage Fighting, WEC Wreckage and whatever else boxing they air. VS is always my late night savior. I don't watch much TV outside of Nets games, Jets games, Lost or boxing.

I think Versus has a LONG way to go before being able to compete with SHO and HBO...in my opinion telefutura and ESPN can be beaten out pretty easily as long as they can get a few names from time to time...

Hatton and Malignaggi is definately a good start and im pretty excited to see what the ratings turn out to be as a result of it being shown of versus...
