Yeah, same here. That was the first time i'd seen Luevano so I didn't know what to expect, but to completely dominate Cook and stop him like he did was so impressive. Cook is no bum either and Luevano just battered him from start to finish.
Before the Jandeang fight I was expecting more of the same and apart from that knockdown he suffered I was not disappointed. Again, Luevano completely dominated a game and dangerous opponent. For me, his jab is up there with the best in boxing at the moment and he lands it with great frequency; I remember in that fight he broke the compubox record for jabs landed by a featherweight. It is not just a pitter patter jab either, it is a stiff one that is a hurtful punch. I also like the way he mixes his punches up regularly switched from body to head; he is decpetively powerful and when you land as much punches as he does the accumilation really starts to bite.
I have to be honest in that I have never heard of Santiago before this fight being made and I do expect Luevano to beat him handily. I would like to see Steven sit down on his punches a bit more and see if he can get this chap outta there to really make a statement.
I am loving 126lbs at the moment with 3 of my favourite boxers (Guerrero, Luevano and Linares) campaigning there and there are some great fights to be made. I also hope Chris John grows some balls soon and fights one of the other title holders, I back them all against him btw.Comment
