Cotto is going to brutally KO Margarito. He will show his true strength and ability when Tony pulls it out of him.
Will Margarito vs. Cotto Go The Distance?

It might bring out the best in him cuz it'll probably be his toughest challenge, but no way he 'brutally KO's' Tony. If anything, he'll show all the heart he's got and brawl it out cuz Marg won't let him box, but I think that's gonna get him beaten.Comment

that is interesting u came with a very interesting point....cotto just keeps getting better and better in every fight would margarito force cotto to show a side of cotto we have yet to see? mmm the more that i think of i can't wait for this fight.Comment

Really? You think Margarito won't allow him to Box? You mean as far as collapsing on him and not giving him to time to think, ect?
I totally agree, NAPO. From what I've seen from Miguel Cotto there is a very good chance he takes things up another notch even higher. His record shows that is exactly what he's capable of when his back is against the wall. That's when Cotto thrives. It's exciting to think about.Comment

I think Cotto can KO Margarito, but I don't know if he will. It all depends, I think, on who's in the better shape. The styles will compliment each other and I expect lots of action throughout, with maybe Margarito getting put on his shorts in the first round. If I had to make a call, I'd say Cotto will be in the better shape, and will pound Margarito's body all night long, and win by a late TKO. I don't see him finishing off Antonio early.Comment

When I hear "box", I think: startin everything wit the jab, movin laterally, tactically clinching, ignoring puttin mustard on shots and goin for points rather than damage, good footwork, lower punch output as the fighter is focused on accuracy rather than sheer activity, emphasis on defense. Not like he's incapable of it, but I just don't see Cotto doin that **** against Tony while he's constantly walkin him down throwin flurries of power shots over and over. When I say "the best in Cotto", I mean his warrior's spirit. He ain't gonna punk out if/when Marg forces a dogfight, I just don't think that's gonna win him the fight.Comment

Excellent insight. Cotto's answer for getting smashed these days is to flail back with everything he's got.

It's not just his pride - it's a defensive manuever. It's his only answer, and basically the reason I have him losing by TKO.Comment

It definitely will not go the distance. We all know Margarito isn't going to take a step back, and I feel confident Cotto cant outbox him, which means.... Toe to toe war for both of them. Someone is going to get stopped.Comment

Cotto UD...although Margarito's overall workrate may be higher Cotto is gonna pick his shots, hopefully use his left hook, and just go to the body. He has too much power for Margarito and although his workrate isn't always high I belive his boxing skills are superior to those of Margarito and are continueing to get better with each fight.Comment
