Jeez guys, nobody believes in Witherspoon getting past Arreola?

    I don't either.

I agree. He has said in the past that he wants to slowly build his way back into condition, but at what point do you say, OK, show me what you got?

I think he can definitely beat either of these guys if he can come in the ring around 230. His last two fights, he came in under 240 and went home early. If he can be strong and get to 230 the right way, he will have enough foot speed to get in close enough to give himself chances to land.

This is very good news if it's true - Tua is the ideal gatekeeper for up and coming heavyweights like Witherspoon and Arreola.

Tua is also supposed to be fighting on July 12, although his opponent hasn't been named yet.

its funny, Tua is scheduled to fight in Ukraine on the same day as Wlads fight against Tony Thompson...wtf?

I dont think Tua remembers what its like to fight a tough fight. he hasnt fought anybody above journeyman status for over 5 years now. i expect arreola would just be too hungry for him and would win on sheer aggression and workrate

Good news. A Tua/Arreola fight could be very enjoyable and a big win on either guy's ledger.

It has been a while since Tua fought someone who wanted to win. Tua still has his power, but I want to see how hungry he is.

This should be an interesting two-fight series. I'm looking forward to it.

What a chance was handed over for Tua, not deservingly I think, but nice anyway.

Tua should look for a good name, someone well ranked at the WBC and the WBA for his July fight. That way he might turn his fight against the winner of Arreola/Whiterspoon into a mandatory for one of these titles. He has to stay away from Wlad, his chances against him are very slim.

Tua should look for Ruiz, Meehan, Maskaev, Liakhovich, Moorer, Carl Davis Drummond, Donnel Holmes, Malik Scott, Sprott, Oquendo, Ahunanya, Krasniqi, B. Minto or Greenberg, all names that fit the bill and that Tua can beat when focused and in shape.

That's a great chance for a quick rise on the rankings and a last chance at the title.

I like Tua, his fight with Ike ranks right up there, and I feel he should have been able to win a world title by now. But I saw one of his fights last year against Hawkins, a journeyman, and I was less than impressed. Awsome chin, great pop and he's still dangerous for anyone, but I'm not convinced.
