Lol. The upcoming COMEBACK bout will be Hatton's first fight, other than JLC, against someone without a belt in over three years.

He just fought Floyd ****ing Mayweather. There are no tougher fights to take. Was Bradley really a tougher opponent than Mayweather?

which he thought would give him rights to claim the p4p #1 crown..... a joke.
The "plan" was to dethrone Kostya Tszyu, unify belts at 140, headline three HBO cards in America, then go after Mayweather.

That's pretty ambitious and he did it, even giving May a good battle before losing to the best in the game.

No one can argue with Hatton's career. There was nothing he could have done to make it better. Beating Witter would have added little. People like you wouldn't be Witter fans in that case.

Fatton handpicked in between some semi-risk fights with old tired men in order to keep winning and then used his fanbase and financial lure to secure the bout with Money.

he's a bully..... and all bullys get owned in the end.

Money owned him once, and he will be owned again.

i expect Malignaggi to come close..... but if it isnt Paulie, Hatton will come unglued against sum1 else.
OK. Compare what Hatton did to what Floyd did in order to get a De La Hoya fight. If you accept one, you accept the other. If you disapprove of BOTH, then you're fine. I disagree but at least you in that case have a position that makes sense

They both followed the same plan building up to the megafight. Floyd avoided better fighters than Junior Witter. But I don't have a problem with the route either one took

Floyd got Oscar in the ring on the basis of his achievements..... whereas Fatton got Money in the ring because on the basis of the cash that could be made.

Fatton just wanted to pad and pick on fading names in order to keep his 0 and make himself look good to the public..... while letting the stacks of bills do the talking to a fighter he doesnt even belong in a ring with.

Fatton wanted to con his way to the p4p #1 crown..... that was what he was claiming he would be if he beat Floyd.

he was padding his way to that shot..... and hoping to hell that he could cheat his way to victory agin Floyd when he got there.
First off, remove the horrible font, thank you. Now i think you are right, this is what boxing is about today, it's no longer a sport, it's a business. Ricky Hatton sells more than Witter the same way Britney Spears outsells Beyonce, but who's the real singer? You get the point. This **** is still away from the mma world and that's why you see many more fights that live up to the hype in mma than in boxing.

Again race and nationality (in that order) seem to matter the most here. Two flagrant cases would both come from the UK - Calzaghe and Hatton. The record padding and the way some fighters get away with fighting lower level competition and then claim p4p rankings based on ONE fight still seems amazing to me.

Also boxing is the only fighting sport where a loss will throw you down the ranks so much you are forced to retire whereas a win will make you p4p number one or do nothing at all for you (depending if you are Britney or Beyonce) except for the chance to fight another day (Casamayor and Nate Campbell).

This is why boxing is hardly a sport anymore. Thus the sportsmanship some of you claim for it is just ******.
