    Kind of strange...

Boxrec browsing made me find something interesting.

There was a fighter named Frankie Warren back in the mid-80s. He was the guy who handed James "Buddy" McGirt his first loss in his professional career.

The strange this is who he beat before...

    None other than, Ronnie Shields.

Two of the top training talents in boxing were defeated in the ring back-to-back by the same guy. What are the odds?

    1986-05-11 Ronnie Shields
    1986-07-20 James McGirt

I remember Warren. He was a really short guy who had an incredible workrate. I had figured he burned out young like most fighters with his style, but I was surprised when I just read he only had two losses.

My dad trained this guy. He knows him well. Along with other Corpus Christi fighters by the name of jesse benavidez and lupe suarez!!!!!! I think my dad was his assistant trainer for those fights!!!!

After the Arnaoutis vs Tyner fight they had some Mike Tysons Greatest hits then McGirt vs Taylor and they mentioned that loss by McGirt since it was his only one up to that point.

I think Buddy had a problem with his left shoulder in that fight and the workrate overwhelmed him
