John Duddy Drops Turner, Hires Pat Burns

According to a report by BBC Sport, unbeaten middleweight John Duddy has split with trainer Don Turner and hired Pat Burns, who used to train former undisputed champion Jermain Taylor. Duddy is scheduled for action in June 28 in Boston's Castle Palace. No opponent has been set.

Wow, I seem to remember it was John asking Don Turner would he still train him after that terrible performance last time out.

Pat Burns is good though, he did great work with Jermain, but I wonder what adjustments he could bring to John that John would accept.

EXCELLENT decision IMO. I have seen ZERO of the promised improvements with Turner, and Burns is a quality guy.

ALthough u gotta feel bad for TURNER, who REALLY seemed to enjoy working with DUDDY and saw a lot of pentential in him

Could be a good move, hopefully he'll teach Duddy how to move his head...

Duddy never should have left Harry Keitt, I've watch Duddy fight for the past few years in N.Y.C. and he has never looked as good as he did before he left Keitt.

Pat burns is excellent. It seems the guys who make fighters big are always left behind, ex. bouie fisher, pat burns with taylor.

Hopefully the change will help him improve his defense.

They need to work on his defense and head movement BIG TIME.

I don't really like Duddy, but he has got talent. so it would be sad to see it go to waste.

Definitey defense is what Duddy needs to work on. Who knows though he might just be a guy that's easy to hit no matter who trains him.
