Pretty Boy vs Pacman in 2010???

The 2 best fighters in the world pound for pound. We are all aware of their future plans. Pacman faces David Diaz in June. More than likely will face the winner of Marquez-Campbell early 09, which leaves plenty of time to experiment with climbing to junior welter with a possible fight with ricky hatton in the latter half 09. Mayweather on the other hand being "semi-retired" is destined to a delahoya rematch later this year, and possibly face the winner of cotto-margarito in 09.

If all the stars aligned and all the pieces fell into place. And both of these guys continued their hot streak. Would it be too much of a stretch? or would it actually be likely that this fight would happen 2010?? Should it happen what kind of impact would have in boxing, the media, fans, and ppv??? I personally would love to see this fight if for no other reason than i have never heard of the world's 2 best pound 4 pound fighters in the same ring at the same time going against each other. I think it would be a historic event regardless of the outcome. However the only reasonable way i could see this happening even if all the pieces fell into place would be at a catchweight between junior welter and welter. A weight that Floyd should still be easily able to make even 2 years from now.

Manny is too agresssive and gets hit waaay too much to be able to go against someone as defensive and a great counter puncher like Floyd. This would not be a good fight for Manny at all.

I was leaning more towards the effect the fight would have towards the boxing community should it happen rather than how they match up against each other.

It would be ridiculous were this fight to happen. Pacquiao is too small, and does not possess a style which could faze Mayweather whatsoever. Easy UD, maybe even a late accumulation TKO.

i don't know if mayweather could do that to pacquiao. if its true that mayweather was only 148lbs during fight night then i will say that this could be a very good match up. but from what i have seen on mayweather on the de la hoya fight he's so big that his almost the same size of de la hoya and with that i guess mayweather will just be too big for pacquiao.

I understand what ur saying. In my opinion it'll be 2x more hype'd then the DLH vs Mayweather. In the end people aren't gonna get what they expected. Hmmmm WAIT Pacman does have a better chin then Hatton and is a better in fighter becuz Pacman doesn't get close to a point where he doesn't have enough room to throw. Now that I think about it...This could be a good fight. Pacman has the stamina I just hope Pacman grabs! Not just a lil, But alot. Oh and btw yes it will have record breaking PPV's. I don't think it will I know it will!!
