Is Oscar vs Cotto Considered a Double Standard?

Since Oscar announced he had plans to fight Cotto in December a lot of Floyd's fans have been calling that fight a double standard to the "unanticipated" Oscar vs Floyd 2 basically saying "How is it ok for Cotto to fight Oscar and not Floyd again?".

But is it really a double standard? That would be Cotto's biggest fight and payday to date and his 1st time under the mainstream spotlight. Floyd was given the same opportunity last year which he clearly won in a subpar fight.

I think the main complaint from the majority of the people here is Floyd vs Oscar 2 is pointless, not in the sense of business (cause believe me they will sell the **** out of that fight) but more along the lines of putting on fights that should be made.

So is Oscar vs Cotto a legit fight contrary to the double standard talk?

Cotto has earned the right to fight a top money fighter, if Floyd don't want to fight him and Oscar does, then **** Floyd, Cotto has the right to get paid.

Cotto deserves a shot for the spotlight. If he fights and beats De La Hoya, then that would propel him to the status that would make Floyd wanna take the fight. He deserves to get paid good money. He's on that elite level.

It would be very ****** for a Floyd fan to cry "hypocrisy" or "doublestandard" if Cotto/De La Hoya ever popped off.

What is the main reason (amongst a million) that Cotto/PBF hasnt happened yet according to Floyd and his girls? That Miguel Cotto is not that big of a PPV star yet right? According to Floyd and his groupies, Cotto vs Mayweather is not happening because "no one knws who Cotto is" and "Cotto is not a PPV draw yet". What is it that Floyd and his fans are saying Cotto needs to do to "earn" a shot at Floyd? That Cotto needs to raise his PPV stock up right?

So if Floyd fans criticize Cotto for fight De La Hoya, the ONLY fight that could help Cotto accomplish what Floyd and his groupies THEMSELVES have been saying that Cotto needs to accomplish in order to fight Floyd, well, then that would show how truly ridiculous these "boxing fans" are. I'm HOPING that they do because that ITSELF would be obvious hypocrisy. That ITSELF would be an example of blatant doublestandards.

It's not a rematch so that already disqualifies it from being a double standard.

Cotto wouldnt have better options either.

And Oscar would be coming off a win.

I think cotto deserves a fight in the spotlight for a ton of cash but if we are talking about strictly the boxing side then i say its no good...

If floyd v. oscar II isnt warranted that either should cotto v. oscar...

everyone here (majority) have been bitching and complaining about wanting to see floyd v. cotto... and they've said oscar v. floyd II is ruining it.

well if oscar v. floyd II is ruining floyd v. cotto then oscar v. cotto would be ruining floyd v. cotto...right?

I'm not denying that Oscar is past his prime. My argument is if Floyd makes the excuse for not fighting Cotto being about money, who's the next biggest fight Cotto could have? Obviously Floyd has no problem fighting Oscar again for the money, but why not put Cotto in the equation? If Cotto bodies Oscar (which I believe he would) what would Floyd's excuse be this time around not to fight Cotto? That Cotto wasn't in the Forbes 500 list? ...the **** outta here ***** lol
