After the fight Lyakhovich claimed that it was a tactical decision from him to take a knee.
In an interview following the fight, Brewster said that he could not see with his left eye after the first round.
It was later confirmed that he had suffered a detached retina in his left eye and he had to undergo surgery,

What do you expect him to say? He could have had the HIV virus and he would lie to get himself a final payday against Wlad. He knows Wlad want to beat him (Revenge) and he knows He would make alot of money from the fight especially if the fight was stage in germany..So he took the fight for the payday.

Post 21 is a post-fight comment from both Sergei and lamon...Brewster was found to have a detach retina after the fight and underwent surgery... He wasnt in a position to actually be competitive in a rematch with Wlad..He was done and only took the wlad fight for the payday knowing he would never fight again.

I haven't heard from Brewster since he got TKO'd in 6 rounds by Wladimir Klitschko in the rematch....I have always had a lot of respect for Brewster, he is an exciting warrior with an iron chin, big heart and devastating power...Brewster is also a good person, he dosen't talk **** like other fighters out there, he's a classy respectful guy.

Brewster is a brave warrior, but he had no business coming off of that insane layoff and the eye injury being in with Wladimir for the title. He had to have known that he had very little chance to pull off the upset. But he has bills like everyone and knew he didn't have many more fights left in him anyways.

I felt staging the fight in Germany was indicative of how poorly received the fight would be in America.

Yep, That sums it all up..He had bills to pay and after a long lay-off the only fight that would secure him for the next 2 years is a fight with Wlad.
