    Why is Floyd P4P King?

Was it for beating Oscar? I mean oscar lost to B-Hop, SSM twice, and Tito. Oscar is waaaaaay past his prime, I mean why is floyd giving this guy a rematch? If floyd wants to fight past there prime fighters shouldn't he at least be fighting shane mosley who beat oscar twice why fight oscar again?? Does floyd simply care more about money then he does his legacy?? Shouldn't he be fighting young WW? So when he retires he could say he fought the best? I mean who has he beat?

Ricky Hatton, good fighter but who has ricky fought?

oscar past his prime, Baldomir please... Judah was exposed long ago, Sharmba Mitchell? Arturo Gatti? Jose Luis Castillo? i think most people feel he lost to him the first time... Diego Corrales is his best win by far and Diego Corrales isn't even that great.

It's hard to name someone who can claim a better record currently. Can you?

It's not easy to always fight world class elite prime competition. There's not enough of them out there. And the ones that are don't bring enough money. This is work too. If I told you you could work for an hour a year and make 10 or 50 million, which fight are you going to take. I don't care how rich you are, you're going to take option B. DLH is a money fight..And a respectable opponent. And with DLH and Mayweather both promoting it it's going to be a huge money maker.

IMO DLH is the most dangerous opponent out there right now for Floyd. Unless Floyd fought at 154 again...

I'd like to see Floyd v Forrest.

Because most boxing writers and die hard boxing fans have eyes , p4p is mythical , its an opinion based on many things and in the end is selected on the likes and dislikes of the writer , if you follow the game enough and use your eyes and intuition as who you think is the best fighter in the world if they all weighed the same ,,,, seems like the vast majority of fighters , promoters , managers and journos have agreed Floyd is p4p the best fighter in the sport right now , that shouldnt be too hard to understand , its seems that people not following the sport for very long and dont like Floyd personally think he shouldnt be rated as p4p 1 , people like Mosley Hopkins SRL and a stream of other great fighters seem to think he is p4p No1 .

Don't dwell over it. P4P rankings are good stuff to argue among boxing fans for people that like to talk/argue about boxing 24/7, that means, the regular posters at boxingscene, the guys at your gym, your dad/grandpa who happens to be a boxing know-it-all, etc.

In all fairness, they are heavily biased and, up to a point, based on a mix of what fighters have done, and what the makers of the list feel they could do. Sometimes they take into account a fighters dominion over it's weight class, sometimes they don't. All very subjective and biased, regardless if they put Floyd, Cotto, Calzaghe or Pac on top.

Cuz he's the best fighter in terms of talent. Nothin more to it than that. As a fight fan you should have some respect for the P4P rankings but don't take it seriously to the point of bein offended. It's all just opinion. And enough people are fed up wit Floyd not fightin real WW contenders thta he'll get bumped from the top spot eventually.

P4P title is a media generated award. We have Mayweather as the P4P king yet he refuses to fight any legitmate welterweight and instead fights exclusively in the senior citizen curcuit. Boxing has really turned more into media entertainment than a sport. Boxing fans base there opinions on what they read or hear in the media. Mayweather is a good fighter no doubt but is no longer on top of my list of great active fighters. He refuses to fight any active in their prime fighters in his own weight class but instead fights old guys or relies on the media to blow up the chances of small guys [Hatton] to somehow legitimize his claim as the greatest welterweight. Who has he fought as Welterweight?? Margarito, Cotto, Cintron, Quintana, Mosley or Williams, nope hasn't fought any of them. About the only name in the top ten Mayweather has fought is Judah and everyone beats him anyway. P4P king well if the media says so, but best welterweight in the world he's not. He hasn't fought anyone to prove it.
