    ..Floyd Mayweather Sr. Question...

If he trained Oscar De La Hoya successfully for his rematch with Mayweather, and Oscar comes out on top. Would you consider him the best trainer in the business, considering what he helped accomplish?

    Vote. Discuss.

Remember, he helped mold Mayweather then was the only one to take him down. he also helped mold Dawson and Guzman, to very solid boxers in their own right.

I'm not sure if I'd call him the best but he'd be up there with the other top trainers.

There would be no question about it in my opinion...Oscar hasnt changed much since being trained by Roach, if anything its been a change for the worse. So if oscar were to beat floyd, the main reason would probably be floyd sr. and he would have done what roach couldnt.

He would probably be the best for Oscar.

If Oscar were to beat Mayweather, were would that leave him in the p4p ranking?
Would Floyd be a fraud, or would Oscar be nr 1?

He isn't... and nobody is. Being a good trainer isn't just about the techniques by themselves, but if those techniques are a good match for the boxer and if you have a good chemistry in order to push that guy to the extreme and earn his respect. So he isn't... and no one is, because it depends on the fighter.

It's funny all you guys are getting slowly but surely on Oscar's nuts AGAIN. And AGAIN you'll jump out and start saying horrible things about him if he loses again.
              Now that's some funny **** ain't it?

Floyd Sr's good, but 1 big win don't automatically make him the best trainer out there. That said, I'm not sure off the top of my head which trainer I'd call the best anyway.

I'd consider him great if he molded a raw kid from the ground up, from a rough fighter to an excellent one.

But Dawson? Guzman? These guys had talent even before Floyd Sr. took over. They'd do without Floyd Sr.
