Povetkin's style is to throw over 800 punches and Ruiz' style would cut that amount of punches in half. Ruiz is a good inside fighter and punished Chagaev with uppercuts and body punches.
Povetkin would probably figure out what to do against Ruiz after a few rounds with his amateur experience but he hasn't yet faced a pro who bends the rules in every possible way to win like Ruiz.
I'm not sure about Ruiz winning a decision, especially in Germany where the referees don't let him use his 'style' and the judges do not like it (understandably) but people should know by now that Ruiz makes anyone look bad.
Chagaev and Valuev barely managed to win decisions over Ruiz, McCline got shut out... Ruiz' weaknesses are former middleweights and David Tua, Povetkin is neither.
