Santiago Motivated To Upset Steven Luevano

Mario Santiago (19-1, 14KOs) of Puerto Rico is motivated for his title shot opportunity against Steven Luevano (35-1, 15KOs). The fight takes place on the undercard to Manny Pacquiao-David Diaz on June 28 in Las Vegas. [details]

I haven't seen Santiago fight before, but after watching Luevano in his last fight it's going to take a great effort for Santiago to even have a chance.

Skill wisw Santiago is better than Luevano. But luevano have a lot of rig experience. And that I think will be the factor. Santiago quality of opposition hasnt been that good. I think it will be a late KO for luevano. And if Santiago indeed pull the upset it will be a SD.

I've been high on Santiago for pretty much his entire career. Opposition-wise, he's going from club level to at least the second tier of the division, which is a significant leap. But his career is approaching the "now or never" stage, which makes it the right time for such a move.

I don't think it will be a war, which could disappoint the show's target audience (since Diaz-Pac figures to be one), but boxing purists and fans who appreciate a bout fought at a high skill level should thoroughly enjoy this one.

definitely, Luevano is too smart to allow himself to get drawn into a war. Terdzak tried many times to get him to brawl even knocking Steven down, but he got right back up and stuck to the game plan. I cant wait for this fight.
