I watched Forrest spar today down at Buddy McGirt's gym. He looked decent sparring Chris Gray, saw the openings well and used his legs. He didn't throw enough jabs, which might be because of his shoulder or not, who knows. He showed a good ability to pick his spots though.
Bones Adams was there, he'll be fighting on Forrest's undercard on June 7, no opponent has yet been picked.

I had to pay up on a $100 bet I had with Forrest that Antwun Echols would be stopped by Peter Quillin. I was cool to give him the money, even though I thought that Echols showed he had very little left in the tank. Forrest was a little overzealous on the issue, wanting to hold my phone over $100 bucks. I got him his money and was like cool, a bet is a bet. He was gloating and said that he knew Echols would make the distance because he is on his last leg and needs to go the distance to get TV fights still. I said I wished he would have tried to win the fight, cuz then he would have got knocked out. I thought Forrest was a little excessive with his behavior, but a deal is a deal. I shook his hand and wished him luck on June 7.
Honestly, no. I think this is going to be a much tougher fight than most people think. Forrest is a proven champion, but Sergio Mora is doing the right think by moving down in weight. If Mora is focused and can keep an active pace, I think he can give Forrest problems. The only issue I see is in the later rounds, can Mora maintain a steady pace or not. There is a bigger chance of an upset than maybe some are willing to admit.
To me, Mora is the best opponent that Forrest has been in with since the Quartey fight, and I don't think he won that fight. If Mora can stay at angles and be active, he can win. We will find out if Forrest is old or if he can stay at the top.

Thank you sir. People forget that for the most part, Forrest hasn't been fighting those young, up-and-coming guys. By all means, Forrest should be along with Mosley, De La Hoya and Hopkins on the senior circuit making payday fights. His lack of marketability and standoffish personality have hurt him in that respect.
He's fighting a crossroads fight with Mora like he has something to prove. Forrest shouldn't even be in this kind of a fight. That said, that scenario makes him just as hungry because he hasn't gotten the big paydays a fighter as accomplished as he should have.
If Forrest loses, he goes back to square one. No hope of big paydays, nothing like that. It's over. If Mora loses, then he will get dismissed as being another Contender bum. So really, both guys everything to lose. That makes it a much more exciting kind of fight.
hmm.. iight.. forrest really did that to you tho? thats kinda funny man.. id be mad if i were you tho..he kinda did u dirty.. esp bout the gloating part.. lol..
hes a pro boxer and hes complaining about money.. ida said, pay me when you got the cash.. take care
