Im just thinking of this and wondering..why doesnt he fight Cotto first then floyd wouldnt it make sense, if he were to beat Cotto (highly unlikely) he would have more momentum going into his last fight vs floyd. He could fight floyd whenever he wants cause of the clause in the contract so floyd could wait till december. Then that fight would do even more that there last fight.
Shouldnt Oscar fight Cotto first them Floyd?

I was thinking about this the other day but Oscar is unlikely to beat either, might as well go for the biggest pay day first which is Floyd. In addition, Cotto would leave him looking like a swollen mess. I mean Oscar didn't look too great after fighting Forbes and Cotto beats those he gets in with. -
Unless Oscar is being super proactive and shrewd, if Cotto fights DLH he gains some much needed superstar exposure then we have a situation where Cotto brings the required money and popularity we have heard so much about. Golden Boy promotes the fight and makes big bucks.Comment

I was thinking about this when I was watching the Forbes fight. Mayweather is De La Hoya's true target though. Cotto is far secondary, apparently. But yeah, I would be doing it in the reverse order in his shoes. De La Hoya should have fought Cotto on May 3rd.

I think the reason its Floyd first is because Floyd is a lower risk with a much higher reward. Cotto is a big risk same reward, but a bigger risk, and a damn good body ****er, DLH has been stopped to the body before so let a fight with Cotto vs De La Hoya sizzle while Oscar handles business with Floyd.Comment

As a boxing fan I would say yes, but if I'm advising DLH I'd say hell no. If he loses badly to Cotto everyone will want to see Mayweather-Cotto and Oscar's rematch will be worth almost nothing.Comment
