Something about Oscar's final "Masterplan" doesnt jive with me

Oscar is planning 2 more fights before he hangs up the gloves right? Mayweather in September, Cotto in December. Now, we can assume that Oscar's plan is based on winning both of these fights. He would go out beating 2 top P4P's, but what I find hard to believe is that Mayweather would not have a rematch clause in the contract if Oscar were to win. Would Floyd really just let Oscar go and fight what he says is his final fight against Cotto? I doubt it.

Hell no...Im sure Floyd has a rematch in ALL his fights..if he loses his precious "0"..you know he wants a chance to redeem hiself.

Oscar will fight cotto in may, he never fought in Dec. I believe. Too little time from Sept. to Dec. to prepare for the caliber of fighter that Cotto is.

thats what im saying. If Oscar wins September, Cotto would definitely not be his last fight. Oscar HAS to expect that. He isnt ****** so I wonder what is the agenda there.

oscar is blowing smoke up everybody's ass.if by some miracle he beats floyd obviously they'll be a third, but in reality if cotto beats margo by the time that happens cotto vs mayweather will happen.

depending on the rematch i doubt there'll be any desire for a third fight unless it's really exciting. but what's exciting? hagler-hearns type fight yes, can these guys deliver? no. with oscar's age, and mayweather's careful approach i doubt they'll do anything different than the first fight in terms of entertainemnt. oscar's more consistent jab (if he really does use it like he says) may cause some ruckus for mayweather but it wont be FOTY. plus oscar will probably be in charge of the contract for the most part, and he wont request for the rubber match regardless of the winner. the kind of money these guys will get i dont think there'll be any reason to get greedy.

im pretty sure oscar insists that this year will be it for him. december, xmas time, it's a good time for promotion, im sure he'll plan something special. i doubt he'll hold off for any longer date, but it remains to be seen.

but the shape that oscar is in, after floyd it probably isnt enough time, especially for a guy years past his prime

But cotto also will be coming off a tough fight, a little more layoff than oscar, but still a quick transition after a welterweight like margarito (assuming he gets past him in the first place) each guy will have to overcome something.

oscar beats floyd, miguel beats tony, itll make the showdown that much bigger. and while the interest will be there they'll need to do it sooner, and that it before the end of 2008

You need to learn that you can't believe a thing oscar says. His last year in boxing was supposed to be in 2006 remember. After he defeated Mayorga....he was supposed to be retired but then Floyd called him out for November but Oscar said he needed to think about it real hard.

Then he announced that he is taking the rest of 2006 off and will make up his mind in 2007. And he did and then we had The World Awaits and then he took the rest of the year off.

And here we are......a tune up victory against Forbes, a loss against Floyd in September and probably his last fight in May 2009 against Cotto. If that doesn't come through, as a last resort he and Tito Trinidad will come together at 160 and Oscar will tell us how he needs to avenge his first loss to Tito to go out in peace blah blah blaaa

Oh how could you forget...the Chavez Jr. fight...son avenging his Dads loss...if Oscar fought Forbes he'll fight anyone.

If Floyd lost decisively, I doubt he'd take a rematch wit whoever it was that beat him. If DLH won a close decision which he almost somehow did last time, Floyd would challenge him again, but Oscar would probably be smug and turn the tables on him and say "no, you ain't worth my time." Oscar won't win period though, let alone decisively so it don't matter.
