  • What if Floyd fought at Middleweight?

Let's say Floyd moves up to middleweight in 2 or 3 years, like many fighters at 147 do as they get older and have trouble making weight. it's not impossible. assuming he doesn't retire, and assuming some of these fighters are up at middleweight still, who would you most like to see him fight? I'm having trouble making a Poll, so just reply with your answer.

    A. Winky Wright- he'd be older, but still a dangerous fighter to take on.
    B. Arthur Abraham- Power, Defense, and a solid chin.
    C. Kelly Pavlik- Currently the man to beat at 160.
    D. Paul Williams- I have a feeling he'll be at MW in a few years.
    E. Vernon Forrest- Solid vet, beat the speedy Sugar Shane Mosley.

    D. Paul Williams. The former welterweight will have no power to discourage Floyd, even at middleweight. I think Floyd can counter his way to a victory, easily.

Winky would be big enough that he would be able to block most of Floyd's shots and be able to keep him at the end of his super long jab for most of the night.

    Abraham - Don't know **** about him.

I don't think he has a chance against a guy as strong with Pavlik with that kind of workrate.

Forrest's jab would have Floyd losing a lot of rounds.

I honestly think Williams is the only winnable fight for him... maybe Abraham, but I refuse to comment since I know nothing about him.

I don't think it would be fair to Floyd. I mean he is kinda out of his element even at welterweight. He would probably be a natural 140lb'er right now if it was lucrative for him.

The Middleweights are simply too big and strong for him. His skill might help him survive the fight, but with all his skill he simply would be overpowered. He even faces that risk against the big natural welterweights, but his skill might be enough in those fights.

that would be too much for him. he would have to fight a weaker middleweight to make it a fair match.

            Shocking...

Absolutely shocking that anyone thinks Mayweather beats Pavlik.

Big middleweight throwing a zillion punches... bad for a small welterweight.

The size difference would be too much against Abraham and Pavlik, I'm not sure how much Winky has left, so Mayweather could possible win that one.

He'd beat Williams but I think Forrest would give him some problems with his jab but I think Mayweather finds a way to win that one as well.

I doubt Winky KOs him... call me crazy.

He just keeps him on the end of the jab, and throws a left every so often.

Winky can't KO punch for ****.
