The world won't wait, but will miss a suprise.

How can the fight be as bad as the first? I love oscar, how he handles himself, smiles gracefully, but, he reminds me of the jon bon jovi of boxing.. had many hits in the past, but now it's the same old tired attempt.

The only way I can see oscar winning the fight, is through catching floyd with a very unexpected left late in the fight.. cos mark my words, it won't be early as floyd is as sharp as edward schissorhands and as defensive as joe calzaghe's father.

    money mayweather for me guys.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY disagee with about 90% of that article.

Steve Kim (who wrote the article) proclaimed Oscar looked worse last Saturday (against forbes) than he did a year ago (against floyd).

Are we to really believe that?

True; oscar wasnt in there with a prime roy jones jr or any other prime great of the sport however as i said, his stamina DID NOT FADE and thats a huge upside that can and will be beneficial to oscar come fight night in september against floyd.

The level of skill has little impact on your stamina. Oscar punched MORE this fight and had MORE punches coming his way than in his fight with floyd. So oscar had much more to deal with this time around and with someone who has decent/above average speed who actually USES IT ALL 12 rounds. floyd tends to use his speed when necessary.

It tells me that floyd sr has worked wonders with oscar by getting him trained properly. oscar looked better in my opinion than he did a year ago with roach and i think come september i will prove my point about oscar and how good he will be.

will he beat mayweater? im leaning towards a yes but in all honesty i wouldnt be surprised if floyd; infact i kind of expect floyd to win.

Overall i remain undecided and probably will be undecided even on fight night.

      why?

because it WILL be a close fight.

Some of the critics (and majority of the fans) think oscar is finished; etc.

I don't believe so; true he wont fight on for another 3 or 4 years...he will probably only have a fight or two beyond the end of the year (yeah he says he's retiring but majority of fighters tend to come back for a fight or two down the line; usually an offer to good to pass up).

Oscar has a good of a chance as any in september.

I wont be surprised if oscar wins it. He looked remarkably better (speaking only in terms of endurance/stamina). yes his reflexes are gone; but he's 36...not 26. yes his speed is diminishing; but he's 36...not 26.

see where im going with this?

      he's still sharp mentally.
he still has a killer jab.
he just showed us the return of his stamina (which i think could play a HUGE role against mayweather)...

look at your scorecard from the first 8 rounds of the fight?

      mine would be:

      Oscar: 2, 4, 6, 7, 8,
      Floyd: 1, 3, 5,

oscar would have won on my scorecard 5 rounds to 3.

After the 8th his jab and stamina disapeared. so if it were to be sustained oscar would have won the fight.

oscar's reflexes werent great the first time against floyd and his speed wasnt that of what it use to be either BUT he still fought a close fight that he almost won.

So i have NO IDEA what these columnists are thinking...they act like floyd and oscar first fought 5 years ago and here is the rematch now with an oscar who is out of his prime...he was out of his prime the first fight...and STILL fought floyd close. so what does that tell you about oscar's ability even beyond his prime?

      exactly.

Besides beyond stamina/endurance i dont think too much of the forbes fight for reference. just because forbes v. oscar looked a certain way; floyd v. oscar will look a different way.

you cant base the outcome of a fight because some guy beat that guy who's fighting that guy; etc.

i dont think floyds speed will be as much of a major factor in the rematch; because i believe floyd sr and oscar plan to just sit in the pocket and counter floyd all night.

i dont think floyd sr will have oscar chase him.

Basically what im saying is some of these critics and boxing fans need to look closely at the last fight; look at the forbes fight (dont read TOO MUCH into it), and think wisely about the rematch.

I see another split decision or a close UD (115-113 from all 3 judges).

this isnt going to be "massacre" (as floyd put it) and oscar isnt going to knock him out (as oscar would put it).

No one is going to win by knockout...floyd didnt hurt oscar the first time (and he tagged him pretty good) and floyd's defense is too sharp for a oscar powerpunch to end the fight.

12 round chess match is what its going to be and maybe thats why it's getting so much criticism but face it; no one else has fought floyd closer than oscar (first time floyd was involved in a split decision) other than a fight with miguel cotto or a catchweight fight with manny pacquiao this is the best fight he can take at the moment...

certianly better than a hatton rematch.

I guarantee majority of everyone trying to bring oscar down will be watching the fight; be it on PPV for $50-$55 or sopcast, at a friends house, at a bar, etc.

      You will be watching.

For once, the common fight fan is starting to realize the con job this fighter has been putting on them, for a long time. Fight big name fighters on the down slide, (JJC, SWEET PEA,) Make old fighters come down to HIS weight. (MACHO) Fight recently KO'D victims.( VARGAS, MAYORGA) Fight smaller boxers, with Big names (SSM, PBF,) AND STILL LOSE!!! Fake a KO with B-HOP, Run when it's time to fight (TITO) AVOID willing and able challenges (WINKY, VERNON, J. TAYLOR, PAVLIK ETC.ETC.) And fighting a class C fighter in FORBES, (embarrassing on the outcome. NO KO) and challenging Ricky Hatten and PAC-MAN. LISTEN od WILL GET HIS ASS BEATEN BAD BY MARGARITO, COTTO, PBF. AND IF TRINIDAD DOESN'T FALL FOR THE "COME TO MY WEIGHT" TRICK, HE'LL KTFO OF THIS FRAUD, ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!!
