Vernon Paris is Stabbed by Attacker, Recovering

He is like Paulie Malignaggi with power. If he could mix up his movement while still stopping to sit down on his punches better, he would be amazing. A lot of his power diminishes when he throws on the run.Comment

he has a very arrogant attitude and obviously hasnt made the money to move out of the hood... we all know how people with nothing can be envious and hateful towards people who are trying hard at making a better life for themselves, i dont think this is anything more than that. he just happens to be a very unlucky bastard.Comment

these fools who are pro boxers and still living on the ****** need to leave that **** permanently.
then they say "yo this is real **** dawg, you don't **** around in these streets ya hurd" then get the **** out and stop telling others like you're the ****ing president.
but no, they still live there, they just want to get killed thats all,Comment

he carries himself in a very arrogant manner, not to say he is a bad person, but he struts around, showboats in the ring and just seems fairly immature in general.... it seems he has come around and matured a little bit in the past year but not enough that i think he is ready to test his skills against the top guys in the division.
i would hope that another setback like this will humble him and focus him more on the goal at hand, he certainly has potential, but not any more than Andy Lee and we all was what a lack of focus and discipline got for him.
someone above wondered what the hell is wrong with these guys not moving out of the ******..... well the reality is that Paris has not made any real money in the fight game... he has missed a lot of time due to being shot and has fought against sub par competition on the undercards of other small time fights. likely he hasnt made any more money the past three years than he would have working full time at Sam's Club or Costco.
he is only 20 years old, its not as if he's been wasting away in a crackhouse for 5 years. im sure if he were able to get out he would have done it already. however, it wouldnt surprise me if he took his last few checks and bought a benz in lieu of saving up for a better life.
one thing i know for sure is that he needs a new manager, his current guy is hell bent on getting Paris into big money fights that he is not ready for. After his last fight his manager said he is looking for a title shot by this time next year.....lol.. Paris needs 7-8 more fights against consistently better comp before he bothers having any fisticuffs with the top-10 at his weight.Comment

Man that sucks for Vernon. He's a good prospect that seems he can't get his career going without some kind of violence happening. Hopefully it gets through this and becomes a successful boxer.Comment
