It was an entertaining bout- as Zelenoff promised. It ended in 1st round knockout- again fullfilling one half of the Charlie Z. prophecy. The other half of that prophecy was a little off.
Zelenoff quit. In one round.
Instead of focusing on the negatives, it should be pointed out that Hartley has finally redeemed himself to the fans. Many were questioning his chin and legs coming into this fight, and the questions were answered emphatically. Hartley showed the brilliant timing which was on display in his previous win against Jeff Lee. Many expect that Hartley's handlers are arranging deals between Joshua Clottey or Luis Collazo. If he wins there, the sky is the limit for the thunderous one.
Only one question remains: How far has Zelenoff reversed his boxing mileage? If the win took him back a road or two, he may still struggle in the future. If instead it's a trip back to Dardanelle Arkansas (the site of his bout with Lee), then we may still see Kid Thunder electrify crowds.
