If u prefer a fight, where the fighters actually FIGHT, then you would have voted for Oscar/Forbes.

One important component of a fight is :"what is at stake?"

There are tons of 'wars' available on any random night on Versus or Wednesday Night Fights, or Telemundo or OLN. It is not enough for me to see two guys going wild on each other. There must also be something on the table that one or both guys is risking.

Last night, there was very little at risk. Everybody expected Oscar to win, but even if he lost, what would be the big deal? It would just signal the end of his career six months earlier than expected. Big deal. He would still have diamonds on the soles of his shoes.

By contrast, in 'The World Awaits', you had the most popular fighter against the best fighter. The p4p title, real titles, and Floyd's legacy (and Oscar's legacy) would have been hugely impacted. And the whole world was watching.

its obvious that the people who voted for the first option dont know anything about Boxing. Its called "Boxing" not knock outs. If you want to see pure all out brawling, go watch the UFC or that fake **** WWE.

No. There was a ton TO GAIN for Forbes. Little at risk. Honestly, Forbes was almost in a no-lose situation.

As long as he didn't get Golden Johnson'd....Stevie was a 18-1 underdog.

pretty much. only uneducated "fans" didnt enjoy the clinic Floyd put on against Oscar. If you want to see skill less boxers try to fight, go watch Rafa Marquez, Israel Vazquez, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez etc. only true boxing fans know Floyd is always exciting.

I agree that Oscar vs Forbes was considerably more entertaining than Oscar vs Floyd. Though in all honesty the bar wasn't set very high.

At least in Oscar vs Forbes both guys showed real initiative, there was some quality exchanges too. Not real tentative, both guys wanted to win, Forbes really tried to take the golden boy crown which caused oscar to fight back hard too.

What exactly did Oscar do to earn a title shot at WW?

forbes vs oscar looked like a sparring session no clinches no hit and hold they were just boxing
it was still more entertaining than the world awaits
