Why? becuase he has a few bumps? I mean lets just be honest about the whole issue. No matter what happend last night De La Hoya would have been critisized by everybody, no matter the outcome.
Everybody knew comming in Oscar was going to win this fight, but I think they beleived it so much that it would come in the form of a knock out, anything short of a knock out and Oscar was going to be critisized for not getting it done.
Had Oscar knocked out Forbes it would have been oh well big deal who was Forbes anyways. and because he has some swelling suddenly we are to say he is washed up? thats taking it a bit too far, Sure I will admit Oscar is not in his prime today, But he did manage to throw 800 plus shots during the fight, not bad for a man who is in his mid 30's.
He also managed to use that jab more of which we havent really scene since his fight with Vargas. so to me I think what we saw last night was Oscar basicly using the perfect opponent with a similar style and size and speed and know how, to work on some things that he is going to need for his fight with Floyd.
Write him off now!!!! becuase if he wins the rematch you will all be feasting on some BBQ Crow.

if you think delahoy looked good you need to find a new sport to watch. He was coming off a long layoff but he was not impressive at all. Not too mention most of his punches weren't even landing or being blocked. Forbes is a natural JR. LIGHTWEIGHT and oscar and natural jr or middleweight couldnt put this guy out?? I think oscar was embarrassed and he said himself he was dissapointed. Forbes fought a good fight i was surprised he was able to land so much on oscars face! His speed was bothering oscar and forbes is no where as quick as floyd. I guarantee you the floyd fight wont be at 147 or 150 oscar has no chance at those weights against floyd.

Floyd Mayweather is tremendous, but can he do that? ^ Steve Forbes was laying it on the line and risking it all to do that damage.

Why do you all tend to forget about the hand issue? I mean DLH said he hurt his hand in RD 4 or is that excuse only allowed to be used by Mayweather I am not so sure these days.
Look he didnt knock out Forbes neither did the super middleweights that Forbes fought, so why Should that mean Oscar looked like ****? he won every round some how he looked like ****, look he looked better winning those rounds against forbes than Mayweather did winning his fight with Baldimor period.
Oscar also took risk in there he was willing to trade, something he is going to have to be willing to do if he wants to beat Mayweather Jr.
he is not shot, you want to see Shot watch Holyfield vs Donald that is shot, Oscar was able to get shots off his timing was there his speed was there, his footwork was there, his defense was there, what more do you want?
Oh the knock out!! that is why he should retire cus he didnt knock him out, you know how ****** that ****ing sounds? seriously

are you new to this sport? de la hoya was trying out a new gameplan along with getting down to a weight he has'nt fought at in over 7 years. de la hoya is a natural jr middle/middle weight???? did you just start watching boxing? oscars original weight was at jr welter/ welter. with a combo of the new gameplan, new weight, changing back to floyd sr, little training and winning 12 of 12 rounds oscar did an excellent job. yea he got some swelling, but after a 1 year layoff, did you think he would'nt swell. i know if i go for more than 6 months without a fight my face blows up after 6 rounds.

Pretty funny to call a guy that won his first world title at 130, and looks at his best at 147, a natural middleweight? Why? Because he looked so great against Hopkins and Sturm?

If floyd fought forbes last night, floyd would have came out looking clean and forbes would have been dominated. Oscar won the rounds but no way did oscar dominate him. I still find it funny you're trying to defend the same oscar that if it wasn't for the gift victory he got against felix sturm he would be 2-4 with his lone wins coming against mayorga(lol) and forbes. His last creditable win was 6 years ago against vargas. It's cool to be a fan of a fighter but to blind to the reality of your boxers ability is a whole different story. If you can't see that oscar IS ONLY FIGHTING FOR THE MONEY then your a complete nut hugger. Oscar is no where near top 10 p4p so how is he supposed to beat the #1 p4p guy on the list? I can't believe you actually look foward to a floyd rematch and think he has a chance to win especially at 147.

he's a natural jr. middleweight. He started his career at lower divisions but that doesnt mean that's his natural weight. everyone starts low. Oscar walks around guarantee you at least 170lbs. If you think otherwise you're ******ed.
