Yes....and it will happen sooner than anyone suspects. It's all about money for Mayweather and he's letting it build to a crescendo....or however you spell it.
Leonard, or more specifically, Dundee, did the same thing with Hearns. He waited and waited until the hot water of public demand passed the rolling boil to near-explosive expectation and then.....SUPER-FIGHT....and, consequentially, super-bucks.
Mayweather-Cotto will happen. And after Floyd beats Miguel, the hunt will be on for the "next guy who could beat him".....probably Margarito; but he can't either.
Don't get me wrong, Cotto is a very talented fighter and has impressed me much in his last few....the Gomez victory not withstanding.....and he could, potentially defeat Mayweather.
....I just wouldn't bet the farm on it.
Either way, to suggest the Mayweather is "scared" of anyone is both expected and typical given his undefeated and arrogant, or "****y/confident" demeanor. However, just because it is to be expected....it doesn't make it tha truth.

I have compared their careers.
Calzaghe has defeated the top two prime age top super middleweights: Lacy 2006, considered at the time one of the two best, and Kessler 2007.
"Chicken" Floyd has avoided the two top welterweights: Cotto and Margarito.

Floyd said he was to “GREEN” for him yet FLOYD didn't fought Hatton at 140...or Harris..or SOMBODY???? Instead he fought Corley and Corley lasted 12 rounds while Cotto stop him in just 5 rounds. Then he fought Henry Bruseles= Is that somebody?
Then he fought old ass Gatti and that’s it for his fights at 140.
Cotto fought Corley and stop him in just 5 rounds he fought the current WBO champ Torres and stop him in 7 rounds and that's Torres only loss. He beat the current IBF champ Mallignaggi and thats Paulie only loss too!
As for the old comments on Mosley and DLH:
1. Age: only a year diference
2. DLH been fighting pro since 1992 and Mosley since 1993 and yes Mosley has been in More fights but they both got about the same ring age
3. Don't forget Mosley beat DLH twice
4. Mosley has never lost by KO like DLH
5. the DLH that floyd fought got KO by B-hop and a then he was inactive for over 20 moths then he fought the human punching bag (Mayorga) and then took a year off before Floyd’s fight and got as close as a SD? -Mayweather sux
6. The Mosley that Cotto fought was coming off a winning streak of 5 in a row before losing to Cotto.
Cotto vs Floyd resume;
Only 3 boxers that have fought with both;Cotto and Mayweather and the ALL have gone 12 rounds with Floyd and they All lost by Stoppage to Cotto!
1. Victoriano Sosa fought with Mayweather when Mayweather was 29-0-0 and the outcome was a UD win to Mayweather. When Cotto fought Sosa, Cotto was 18-0-0 and Cotto KO him in just 4 rounds!
2. DeMarcus Corley fought with Mayweather when Mayweather was 31-0-0 Corley staggered Mayweather in the 4th Floyd drop him in the 8th and 10th but the outcome was a UD win to Mayweather. Cotto was 22-0-0 whe he fought Corley. Cotto was staggering and reeling in the 3rd. Corley was knocked down once in the first round & twice in the 5th ending the fight with a % round TKO victory for Cotto
3. Zab Judah fought a 35-0-0 Mayweather and Floyd won another UD while Cotto (29-0-0) KO Judah in the 11 round.
Cotto have never call out floyd? Where have you been at?
Bottom line Cotto's resume at 140 and 147 is WAY better than Floyds
