De La Hoya: "I'm Going To Beat Mayweather"

Hatton was getting hit with that check hook or straight right hand every time he was rushing in with his wide open guard.Hatton was FINE until that checkhook landed..That KO was not an accumalation stoppage(you know this yourself)
People said there is no way Floyd would stop Hatton..
Oscar is there to be KO'd..especially to that body
Forbes was hurting him downstairs..that's why Hoya didn't have enuff to stop him..Comment

I asked you to commit to a bet in four or five threads now, but you haven't said ****. Jesus, I was just talking about a friendly public bet or for B.S. points, if that's your thing. I wasn't talking about real fuqing money, so what's up?
Some guy just challenged me via PM for all my points in September, so I won't have any points to bet against you. How about we do this WWF-style and the loser retires from BoxingScene? Don't be too timid. I won't care if you decide to use an ALT afterward.Last edited by NachoMan; 05-05-2008, 10:31 AM.Comment

??
Aside from Mayweather being in his top ten; there is nothing wrong with Jones. Mayweather is good, but he hasn't shown anything spectacular. RJJ on the other hand is the best P4P fighter head to head in history. Accomplishment-wise he did a lot, but not enough to distinguish himself from ATGs that rank on the best boxers in history, but he wouldn't have lost to any of them in his prime (from LHW down).
I rank my top 10 list in terms of pure talent and capability. RJJ is always #1 on that list.Comment

With all due respect, I think your criteria for determining the P4P is screwed up. IMHO, the P4P should be evaluated objectively based on achievement and competition, not some subjective assessment of a fighter's perceived talent and capability (the criterion 'capability' is especially vague IMO). That is why I'll always have a fighter like Roberto Duran about a thousand spots higher than a guy like Roy Jones.??

I've heard these discussions over and over, and it always seems to come down to these two schools of thought, so there are a lot of people who agree with your point of view. I really don't.Comment
