Devoid of Drama, De La Hoya Soundly Defeats Forbes

By Jake Donovan - Regardless of what was the real purpose of Saturday’s 12-round event, Oscar de la Hoya managed the 39th win of his Hall-of-Fame career with a business-like performance over former Contender finalist Steve Forbes in the HBO-televised main event at the Home Depot Soccer Stadium in Carson, California.

Have little worry Jake, you'll get to see the Fishnet lose in a few months again.

Cotto is vary strong, fast and a good jab but, Matweather will out smart him. I know that's what everybody want 2 c including me but it will b a lot like Mayweather vs Hatton.

Cotto is strong, fast and had a good jab however, Mayweather will out smart him.Mayweather is the hole package he has a much quicker jab faster hands smart and punching power which he get very little credit 4. Mayweather vs Cotto is Mayweather vs Hatton on some levels. Mayweather unanimous decision!

DLH did what he had to do to win and I don't think that he could have stopped Forbes if he tried. He can't beat Cotto either but Mayweather can so that shouldn't be a fight that DLH wants. He won't beat Mayweather in the rematch either.

Cotto is several levels above Hatton. At any rate, Oscar will be the one fighting Cotto come December; Floyd will still be in recovery.

Those scores were a little harsh on Forbes, it certainly wasn't a shut out as one clown had it. That said, Oscar did enough but he has no place in taking on Mayweather and will get annihalated by Cotto.

Hats off to 2Pound, he earned his pay day.
