Are the slapping-punches Calzaghe does legal?

I was under the impression that hitting with the inside of your glove was a foul, but then again I've never heard of Joe even being warned about it. So is what he does nowadays legal or not?

He's not hitting with the palm, it's more of a swiping hook shot, of course it's legal.

i dont think it is legal, but there isnt any ref that has warned him over it because opponents dont complain during the fight maybe, if every ref started warning him and docking points for slapping, calzaghe wouldnt have a game plan now because he cannot punch like he use to because of his hands

i'm just glad people are finally reallizing how lame his punches are...i'm real shocked Hop didnt talk more about how his punches dont hurt...mayb the slaps do hurt more than i think tho...lol...but it is a gay way to win a fight..course so is one punch and holding

i dont think the slaps hurt alot so to speak, but when you throw the amount that calzaghe does, then it will always take an affect on the opposing boxer in the long run just because of the amount he throws

a lot of people associate hopkins slowing down cause of the amount he took of punches/slaps whatever you want to call them. i think it was more of him having to respond to them that took away his energy, not the impact of them

Yeah some not all, if he went in hitting him with just his palms like girls do when they scrap outside the pub, that would be illegal. But as most of the shots connect with the outer part of the glove it's fine.
